YDreams wins Brazilian VR contract from energy company

2017-08-17 06:21 ET – News Release

Mr. Daniel Japiassu reports

YDREAMS GLOBAL SIGNS NEW VIRTUAL REALITY CONTRACT WITH ONE OF THE 5 LARGEST ENERGY COMPANIES IN THE WORLD

YDreams Global Interactive Technologies Inc. has been commissioned by one of the top five energy companies in the world with over $17-billion (U.S.) in annual revenue, to create a virtual reality (VR) immersive experience to present to guests at the largest solar energy complex in Brazil. The new facility is a result of $175-million (U.S.) investment as part of a two-year plan for investing $3.8-billion (U.S.) in Brazil, to generate 340 gigawatt-hours of clean energy per year and fully meet the requirements of 166,000 homes in the Brazilian northeast, avoiding the emission of 198,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

Daniel Japiassu, chief executive officer for YDreams Global, explained that, “Our noteworthy global energy clients assignment counted on the large expertise of our company in creating an immersive virtual reality experience.”

The global energy company, with over 84 gigawatts of global energy capacity in Brazil, has a network of gas and energy distribution of over 1.9 million kilometres. Present in over 30 countries in four continents, the company has made major acquisitions in the Brazilian market and supplies energy to over 10 million people in the country. “We believe this first assignment with such a large company, committed to long-term investments in clean energy, may bring many future business opportunities for YDreams Global in this entire industry,” said Mr. Japiassu.

Mr. Japiassu concluded: “YDreams continues to work with global leaders to create virtual and augmented reality projects. We feel that no other public company on the TSX Venture [Exchange] has the list of working relationships with Fortune 500 and other global leading companies that YDreams can boast. We are building on these major contacts to leverage our global expertise in the augmented and virtual reality areas. We have proven to be one of the leaders in this space and feel that the market is currently underestimating the impact of virtual reality companies. We are very optimistic about the future growth of the company and feel this segment will garner significant market focus.”

YDreams to create VR experience for Brazilian hospital

YDreams to create VR experience for Brazilian hospital

2017-07-17 06:30 ET – News Release

Mr. Daniel Japiassu reports

YDREAMS GLOBAL LAUNCHES VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE FOR WORLD RENOWNED CANCER HOSPITAL

YDreams Global Interactive Technologies Inc. has joined forces with a world-renowned Brazilian cancer hospital to create immersive, gamified experiences using virtual reality to teach teens about early diagnosis and prevention.

After one year of development, YDreams Global is launching the new project for Barretos Cancer Hospital — one of the leading private cancer research treatment centers in the world, providing over 6,000 people with free of charge assistance in 18 specialties. The immersive experience is aimed at the younger audience and seeks to educate them on the advantages and life-saving possibilities of early detection of the disease.

The experience will be mobile and take place inside a custom made semi-trailer that will be taken through several major cities in Brazil. The inside is designed as a futuristic lab with two extra external rooms before and after the main activity. The company and the hospital have the intention to export the project to other countries. The road show kicks off July 18 in the state of Sao Paulo.

YDreams Global implemented the project using its expertise in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and the technologies behind the project are fully interactive, and developed over the last year by YDreams Global to be multiphased. Featured activities involve virtual reality, gesture sensors, touch screen devices and social network content sharing. After registration, participants will go to a mission briefing, where they will learn about the importance of the roles assigned to each one of them. Inside the trailer, each will have six different games with the high point being a collective VR experience. After leaving the trailer they will experience the final activities of their adventure throughout the human body.

Chief executive officer Daniel Japiassu stated: “We created an experience to simulate a ship that was shrunk to fit inside the human body, where every member of the crew will play a role in the mission to locate and fight cancer cells. Groups of six teenagers will have their specific orders by a captain. Naturally, this is all part of an immersive storytelling activity, in which every role will conclude in a single problem that will need the crews combined resources to solve it.”

Mr. Japiassu explains that, by developing a game-like approach, YDreams Global was able to create an attractive, mission-driven experience that will entice youngsters everywhere to participate: “We want them to feel that they’re a part of something big and have fun — while the gaming-oriented experience will also teach them about signs in their day-to-day life that can be recognized as cancer leading and why they should avoid certain habits. Activities with gamified elements are the best way to captivate the newer generations minds and hearts. They’ll be able to share their experience through social media and take this knowledge with them for life,” said Mr. Japiassu.

Founded over 50 years ago with humanitarian motivations by a wealthy family, the Barretos Cancer Hospital is by far the most advanced oncology hospital in Brazil with 100-per-cent assistance through the Brazilian public health system. Sustained mainly through donations by associates, the hospital is present today in 1,756 cities in 27 Brazilian states. It has over 3,500 employees and 380 full-time doctors. The interactive trailer truck will spread out to youngsters all over the country highlighting the importance of their role in preventing cancer.

YDreams Global and SET create the “SETup Challenge” in search of Latin America´s most promising Startups for VR, AR and IoT

YDreams Global Interactive Technologies Inc. (“YDreams Global” or the “Company”) (TSXV: YD; YDRMF: USA; FSE: A2AP0L),  and the Brazilian Society of Television Engineering (“SET”), are organizing the SETup Challenge whose goal is to bring competition and incentive to startups who develop solutions for multiplatform content production and distribution.

The 10 most disruptive solutions that make use of immersive tech such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things will be chosen to participate on SET EXPO 2017. YDreams Global, a company that uses sensorial technology, transformative design and integrated narratives – is SET’s partner and will participate on judging the final selection of startup companies. The winning names will have access to the industry’s top teams, being coached by innovators and will exhibit their portfolio on the SET Innovation Zone (SIZ) booth, during SET EXPO 2017, Latin America’s biggest multimedia content technology event, which takes place in São Paulo, Brazil, in August.

The purpose behind the SETup Challenge is to find solutions that create an immersive environment for content that goes beyond the screens, using a mix of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and even Internet of Things (IoT). “With this, we can amplify SET’s part on the relationship with startup companies and the entire industry of content creation and distribution, as well as keeping our associates up to date with the newest innovations on the field,” states Claudio Younis, SET’s Vice President.

Over 50 companies have already taken part in the challenge, among them are names like Celebritys, NetShow.me and Stayfilm. According to Edson Mackeenzy, Head and curator of the Innovation Zone program, which distributed over R$1 million in awards from sponsors and partners, this is an important move for the relationship between media, broadcasting companies and startups. “We would like to create an even stronger connection between entrepreneurs and potential clients,” he stated..

In 2017, the SETup Challenge will have the full support of YDreams Global, who through its own participation, moves forward with its longtime incentive of market development for startup companies. “The greatest changes in several industries have begun with small-scale companies; and for the broadcasting field, creativity is an imperative element. By mixing this ‘hunger’ for the unprecedented with the unparalleled imagination of the startup environment, we aim to show the world what true innovation is like, from the minds of these great professionals – something that we take as a rule in our DNA. By being close to these companies we have the opportunity to not only accelerate but invest and eventually incorporate the best ones,”stated Marcos Alves, Director at YDreams Global’s Ventures division.

Registration for the SETup Challenge can be made until July 7th through the following URL: www.f6s.com/siz2017. The chosen companies will be revealed on July 27th, at SET’s website (www.set.org.br).

2017-04-13 06:43 ET – News Release

Mr. Daniel Japiassu reports

YDREAMS GLOBAL HIGHLIGHTS BRAZILIAN FAST-FOOD GIANT BOB’S CONCEPT STORE THROUGH VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY

YDreams Global Interactive Technologies Inc. has released a new project for Bob’s, one of the most traditional fast-food chains in Brazil, that recently celebrated its 65 anniversary alongside its franchisees by taking a dive into virtual reality. Bob’s, the Brazilian fast-food giant, created a concept store through Virtual and Augmented Reality. Store owners were invited to the brand’s biggest event in Brazil and experienced an immersive 3D exhibition in order to learn more about the project.

With over a 1,000 stores in three countries, Bob’s is the third largest fast-food chain in Brazil, where they are part of the BFFC group which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut. For their 2017 convention, they invited more than 1,000 franchisees and their families to introduce them firsthand to Bob’s new concept store. YDreams Global was Bob’s creative and technology partner for this experience.

The public received Virtual Reality (“VR”) goggles for a deep immersion experience. With a simple head movement, they could explore the entire 3D environment of the new concept store and choose specific points whenever they wanted more details.

The 360o scope of the VR environment brought everything to life right from the main entrance and it was possible to interact with hotspots to learn more about the new concept store and its features. “The idea was to display the new store in a creative way, since it will be the main model for future stores of the Bob’s brand,” stated YDreams Global’s CEO, Daniel Japiassu. “The client’s efforts in seeking innovative solutions, alongside our experience in implementing projects such as this with short deadlines, were key to a successful event. This concept could be a strong recurring growth driver for YDreams in the future and highlights our continued ability to work with Fortune 500 companies and highly recognizable branded companies.”

At the YDreams booth, the public could also view the new store’s plan through an Augmented Reality (“AR”) application. According to YDreams CEO, “VR and AR experiences are a perfect way to demonstrate YDreams’ “Sensorial Technology” business pillar in a more engaging fashion. We feel that a conventional presentation would not convey the intended message for this project. By showcasing the new store through VR and AR, the public had a much better perception of the end result and all the effort made by Bob’s.”

Ana Venancio, from Bob’s Development Division, stated: “The event was really a success; I believe we reached a new level in the way we showcase and present our business.”
