Nothing is as permanent as we imagine–especially super-complex, super-costly, super-asymmetric and super-debt-dependent state/financial systems.

Identifying the tell-tale signs of Imperial decay and decline is a bit of a parlor game. The hubris of an increasingly incestuous and out-of-touch leadership, dismaying extremes of wealth inequality, self-serving, avaricious Elites, rising dependency of the lower classes on free Bread and Circuses provided by a government careening toward insolvency due to stagnating tax revenues and vast over-reach–these are par for the course of self-reinforcing Imperial decay.

MX GOLD CORP. ACCELERATES PAYMENT AND ACQUIRES 50% SHARE OWNERSHIP IN MEXICAN COMPANY HOLDING IDS SMELTER PROJECT

Further to its Feb. 13 and April 28 news releases, MX Gold Corp. has paid the remaining amounts due totalling $450,000 (U.S.) to American Metal Mining SA de CV as required under the framework agreement dated Feb. 6, 2017, as amended, thereby acquiring 50 per cent of the shares of Inversiones Durango San Luis SA de CV, a private Mexican corporation that holds the IDS project. As stated in the April 28, 2017, news release, the IDS project consists of a past-producing gold smelter, three acres of land situate around the smelter, and various equipment and permits associated therewith.

Dan Omeniuk, chief executive officer, stated: “With the acquisition complete, both parties are ready to receive shipment of material. The joint venture management is diversifying ore collection camps to assist more local small miners for mineral supply assurance while optimizing metallurgical blending properties for engineering design.”

The company also announces that, pursuant to a consulting services agreement dated Oct. 20, 2016, between the company and a third party consultant, the company issued 85,174 common shares in the capital of the company to the consultant as a finder’s fee in connection with the company earning its 50-per-cent share ownership interest in the Mexican corporation holding the IDS project.

The gold sector has been particularly difficult to gauge during the past few months of trade. Gold miner participants have been whipsawed between numerous market catalysts, as the lagging GDX action in relation to the recent gold surge has had investors on edge.

Early last week, mounting geopolitical worries including upcoming elections and terrorist attacks in the UK caused the gold price to rocket towards the $1300 level. The daily breach of the 6-year downtrend at $1280 in the gold price had many pundits calling this a bullish breakout, only to have the sector begin to reverse just before the UK election. The GDX also made a large daily move upwards with the gold price early last week, only to end the week’s trade with a nasty bearish reversal candle when the UK snap election results were announced.

The ship is being launched by Debmarine Namibia — a 50/50 joint venture between De Beers and Namibia, a country located in southwest Africa.
